Here's a message she sent to the city council:
Dear Mayor and Council Members,
This letter serves as my resignation as a Wayzata City Council member, effective August 6, 2024, due to my pending move out of the City and change of residency.
I have had the honor and privilege of serving with you for the last three and a half years, and before that 9 years on the planning commission. I never expected that my service to the City of Wayzata would span that many years. I will miss all the great and highly talented city staff and of course, my Tuesday calls with Jeff. I will miss teasing him and sharing my passion for many issues in the Wayzata. I will miss my fellow Council members that I have had the privilege to serve with. Each one of you brings a different perspective to the tough decisions that we as a Council have had to make while always remaining professional.
I am looking forward to the next chapter with my family and to making roots In a new community. Please always think of what's best for Wayzata and the residents that make this their home. It truly is an amazing little town.
Iverson's seat will be filled by appointment and that person will fill out her remaining term which ends at the end of the year.
The appointee will not be required to be a candidate for Iverson's seat which expires at the end of 2024.
